The JX S5200 series is a next-generation green gigabit Ethernet switch for campus networks with flexible gigabit access and 10GE uplinks. It supports flexible Ethernet networking, diverse security controls, easy management, IPv4/IPv6 dynamic routing, mature IPv6 features, and intelligent virtualization for reliable, scalable smart access networks.
Intelligent Virtualization Technology
Logically virtualizes multiple devices into a single switch to simplify configuration and management. Stacking is an efficient device/link backup solution: redundant backup between member devices improves device-level reliability; cross-device link aggregation improves link-level reliability and load balancing; adding member devices easily expands ports and bandwidth. Smooth upgrades are supported with no service interruption during upgrade.
Flexible Ethernet access.
Flexible interfaces: Gigabit downlink and 10 GE uplink series with 8/24/48 electrical downlink and 24/48 all-optical downlink options. Uplinks are fully upgraded to 10 GE to meet surging bandwidth demand and are compatible with 1 GE and 100M optical modules.
Carrier-grade high reliability.
Supports traditional STP/RSTP/MSTP and G.8032 ring protection with single-ring, tangent-ring, and intersecting-ring topologies, delivering carrier-grade reliability with fast service switchover within 50 ms.
Supports port backup dual-homing protection and LACP link aggregation for uplink redundancy, greatly improving network-side reliability. Loop detection automatically discovers and removes loops while keeping the customer network stable.
Supports dual primary/backup operating systems. In production networks, if the primary system fails, the device automatically switches to the backup system for improved stability and reliability.
Supports comprehensive Ethernet OAM (IEEE 802.3ah/802.1ag) for fast link fault detection.
Supports power redundancy: high-density access products optionally support dual power supplies for improved reliability.
Comprehensive security control.
Supports comprehensive security authentication: IEEE 802.1X, MAC authentication, and bypass authentication. Authentication servers include RADIUS and TACACS+ for flexible campus and enterprise multi-authentication requirements.
ARP attacks and ARP viruses are among the top LAN security threats. Rich ARP defense features are supported, including Dynamic ARP Inspection for user legitimacy and ARP packet validity checks, and ARP rate limiting to prevent ARP floods from overwhelming the CPU.
Builds and maintains DHCP Snooping binding tables and drops illegal packets that do not match bindings. Trusted port characteristics ensure DHCP server legitimacy.
Supports SSH 2.0 remote access, SFTP upload/download, and HTTPS web management with encrypted protocols for secure administration.
Rich QoS policies.
Supports Layer 2–4 packet filtering based on source/destination MAC, source/destination IP, TCP/UDP port, protocol type, and VLAN flow classification.
Provides flexible queue scheduling based on ports and queues with SP, WFQ, and SP+WFQ modes. CAR is supported.
Supports ingress and egress port mirroring to monitor packets on specified ports by copying them to a monitor port for network analysis and troubleshooting.
Also supports Telemetry for precise traffic monitoring and analysis on gigabit/10 GE high-speed networks.
Supports buffer management for burst traffic, congestion control, and low latency across diverse network scenarios.
Mature IPv6 solution.
In addition to IPv6 ping/telnet/SSH/FTP, supports IPv6 SNMP and HTTP management.
Supports DHCPv6 Client/Server/Snooping/Relay/Option18,37, IPv6 Source Guard, IPv6 Prefix Snooping, and ND Snooping.
Supports VRRPv3, IPv6 routing, and IPv6 Path MTU.
Effortless O&M management.
Supports SNMP v1/v2c/v3. In addition to in-band management, out-of-band SNMP management ports allow management independent of service traffic. WEB management enables flexible configuration and monitoring of individual devices.
Supports ZTP (Zero Touch Provisioning) for automatic deployment. After the provisioning server is deployed, devices boot and automatically obtain IP addresses and configuration for managed, configurable operation without on-site maintenance.
Some models feature front-facing power ports for single-side maintenance, simplified O&M, and flexible rack placement (against wall or back-to-back), saving rack space.
